i have a really big interrogation here..... i have a subaru 2.5i SE 2007 and am wondering if i would be making a huge mistake if i were to trade it in for the forte.... i know i would probably lose on the handling...but other than that what are your toughts because on the financial side it would be a lot cheaper with the kia!! thanks

what kind of climate do you live in? if its snowy for part of the year or anything like that, or if there's things like dirt roads and such, or if its paid off (or close to it), i'd keep the subie

It really depends on what you want. Are you looking to change just for the sake of change or finiancially you need some breathing room? Do you plan to do mods or just run the car. Subs are great cars. I think after the intial coolness of the new car wears off you may have regrets. The Forte is a great car for the money. The SX specs out pretty well against a lot in the class. I would also agree with mschiavoni, subs are snow beaters!

Thinking you may miss awd as opposed to 2wd. I had an impreza RS in 01, awesome car, I was sad when I had to give it up...lost job..no choice. But comparing the car to mine now, it's almost seems the same, handling is better, better tires, stock. more power mid-range...stock.
My subie did not have traction control. My SX does, I have to turn it off for some accelleration needs...hehe. it will bog if it loses traction. I hate that. The subie's transmissions are alot to be desired. Almost everyone I know in a subie had issues with theirs. I think they have since been improved since then though. I like my SX, but if I had the chance to get my RS back...it's gone...in a heartbeat!!

If the issue is snow handling, I can say that I'm impressed with my Forte's ability to help me with Buffalo snow driving. Small FWD cars may not be optimal but the stability control and ABS have saved my a.. a few times.

Im new to this forum. Just bought the sx. Turned in my 06 wrx. Turned it in yesterday.I really wish i could of kept it. finacially the kia is better, but giving up my wrx was so hard. I deffintly regret it. This post is old now, hope its not too late. My advice is DONT do it. I miss the handeling, the looks, the speed. Im hoping to get used to this car. Im trying really hard to find the positives.

take it back Monday. say after driving it, you didnt like it. thats my advice Wink
