Thoughts on these LED taillights?
Hi Forum,

I was browsing E-bay this morning while making breakfast and noticed these rear LED taillights for Forte sedans. While I can't find any information on them outside of the E-bay listing itself, I really like the amber coloured tail-lights, in my personal opinion they are safer than red turn signals.

Thanks,

Smudgey

RE: Thoughts on these LED taillights?
They look ok they are brighter .. IMO only i would rather spend the money on new speakers or add to the custom wheel kitty ,bug deflector wind deflector etc. Right know the big buzz words are LED/HID . Iv'e read other sites posts and a lot of owners are starting to have problems with adding LED and HID type lights to there Kia's..Any way it's your car, do what you want. SmileSmileSmile

Thanks for both of your comments. I have my manual in front of me as I type this, and in the middle of section 4 it warns of issues with HID and other light modifications causing electrical issues. I think I'll pass on these and, like Ratdaddy said, keep saving my money towards a nice set of (literal) wheels. Big Grin

I also read that in the manual...

Yeah, many cars nowadays are using "smart" electrical systems. The systems are monitored by the computer and any change in current will cause the computer to turn the circuit off.

RE: Thoughts on these LED taillights?
Iv'e read on other forums where owners are baking thier headlights in the oven taking them apart and adding HID and other lighting effects . I sure hope they don't have to go in the to the dealer with other problems because most dealers (will) make a file on these items and they (KIA) can refuse a warranty claim . If you install an after market turbo and blow the engine NOT COVERED .If you install aftermarket HID's and fry the wirring harness sorry NOT COVERED. Im also concerned about CAI on the 2.4 where the airbox is removed or bypassed .Because the ECU is now not being cooled by the way KIA designed it..Not saying it will or will not cause the ECU to fail .But if you have a proplem on the road and have it towed to a dealer . Could be a problem..Just saying...Be carefull of the modifications you make..

RE: Thoughts on these LED taillights?
This is a bit less of a worry for me because buying the car second hand cut the warranty in half to start with, but I'd rather not mess around with electronics that I don't fully understand. Other than having to rebuild the TPMS you don't have tooooo much to worry about when changing the wheels, and I feel they can have a more profound effect on the look of the vehicle for the $ invested.
