2011 EX Optional Alloys
Hi Kia Forte Forum,

I own and drive a 2011 Kia Forte EX sedan which I bought at a Nissan dealership used after it had come off of a 6-month lease. The car did not come with the optional $950 package that gives the vehicle a sunroof and 16" alloy wheels (as opposed to the standard 15" steel wheels). I would really like to equip these alloys on my vehicle, but unfortunately I honestly do not know where to start looking for them.

It appears that different trims, names, etc. are used all around the world and there are a large variety of available wheels for the Forte, making the situation even more complicated.

Do any of you have any tips as to where I can possibly find a parts number, or a listing selling these wheels? Even the most obvious of answers would be appropriate, because I've never done any sort of research like this before; I am, after all, a sixteen year old, and my Forte is my first car.

Lastly, other than a check-up at the dealer and an alignment, would I have to do any other modifications to the vehicle to accommodate these slightly larger wheels?

Thanks,

Smudgey

You could check Craigs List in your area. Or just go to your local tire dealer and check out some aftermarket wheels. Might even check with Kia dealers in your city, sometimes they move tires and wheels around to make a sale. Never know they might have a set hanging around....Good Luck.. And WELCOME to the forum...Keep us posted.

Thanks, Ratdaddy.

Just a little update:

I had no luck with the likes of craigslist but I actually found 2 individual wheels on E-bay, one of the URLs here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-11-KIA-FORTE-...767wt_1163

$175 a piece seems like quite a bit for used alloys that already have 5,000 miles on them, unless I'm just unfamiliar with the normal pricing.

Kia should've made the 5-door's wheels available for the Koup & sedan. They're nice.

RE: 2011 EX Optional Alloys
Just thought I'd add a few pictures of my car...

I took the photos today, I've had the car just over 4 1/2 months now and my drivers' license 2 months. xD

The Snow White Pearl is really difficult to keep clean, not drying my car even once after getting caught in rain makes the car look like it went mudding or something.

Anyway, on topic - I'm heading to a Kia dealer nearby about my Tire Pressure Monitoring System on Monday, so while I'm there I'll ask them if they have any reccomendations (or if they actually keep the part themselves). I'll update everyone on my findings afterwards.

Just back from the dealership -- getting them brand new with all the fittings and tires (must be bought due to the steel wheels being 15" and the alloys being 16" would cost $2000! I told him I'd pass on that one...

I am getting a new driver's seat for free though, can't complain about that. Lovely place.
