Quick question, and hopefully a quick fix.
I want to make my cigarette lighters "always hot" for my 2011 5-door. I tried using a jumper wire from the clock fuse to the cigarette fuse. No luck. Any ideas which fuses are always hot? Or is there another way I should be doing this? Thanks a million! |

I haven't made the comparison between the Forte and my old car, but my old forum has a good DIY write up that you could adapt easily to the Forte. Here's the link to it: http://www.caliberforumz.com/showthread.php?t=10911 The picture that's shown in the linked DIY has the power being fed from what Dodge calls a "Hot Car" connection. The power is always active there. The Forte's Owners Manual doesn't show anything like that. So you'll have to probe around with a multi-meter to see if there are any empty fuse sockets with power when the car is off. Your other option is to to attach that fused lead directly to the battery. _________________________________ Brad "Textbooks teach how to think in-the-box, the real world teaches how to think outside-the-box."

RE: Always hot cigarette lighter
I just wanted to give an update on this.
When you pump 12v through the cigarette fuse, the dash, clock/temp and radio all power on. I ended up cutting the wiring harness at the cigarette lighter and using a t-tap to supply the voltage I needed. (fused it of course) |
