Go to http://www.kiatechinfo.com (log-in) , click on "shop" in the left hand column under technical information, select the year/make/model of your car in the pop-up window, click on "body (interior & exterior) (sedan or Koup...not sure what you drive), click "interior", click "crashpad" and finally click "repair procedures". This will bring up diagrams and instructions for disassembling the dash components.

I think all the info like this that we'll ever need, is on that site. Makes sense that it would be, since Kia tech's use this site, or one similar to it. The "shop" section is basically shop manuals for the car inside and out.

Holy cow, Kenny....that's terrrific! I was thinking at some point I'd have to get a shop manual, and those can be pretty pricey. It's going to be a while before Chilton's does an aftermarket book for the Forte. I thought all the site would provide would be things like exploded diagrams, special repair or recall notices and such. Clearly I haven't gone nearly deep enough. Thanks for the tip! REP!

Its funny, I read stuff in the forums and then discover issues down the line. My centre dash was a squeeking away last night. If you take apart the dash, let us know how it goes.

Will do. That project has to wait in line behind a whole slew of flight sim consulting stuff, tho, so it will be a while. Smile

LOL...That's the problem with forums. You find all sorts of problems you didn't know you had and you spend money on all sorts of mods you didn't know you needed!

It's like a gross addiction for me. Been visiting forums since 2004 or so. I would have a lot more money in savings if it were'nt for these damn crack like forums!
