Star Brake Light Mod
You can mod the inner lights (on the trunk lid) to function as brake lights. The sockets are made for a 2-filament bulb and the bulb already in the housing is an 1157 2-filament bulb just like the outer tail lights. You need to install a contact (have to modify one as the small contact is not available over the counter)in the socket and run wires from the inner lights to the existing loom and down to the left outer tail light and splice into the red brake wire. See attachments:

In order to see the drawing full-size it looks like you have to be a member of this site.

I have had this mod done on my Forte sedan for over three months...no electrical problems! Car is driven daily.

My camera will not take close-up pictures of the contact and socket, hopefully this will help those that do not understand the contact/socket need:

Which one? My sedan or Koup?

The one on the wife's sedan is the factory Kia sedan spoiler. http://kiaforteforum.com/kia-forte-koup-...-the-Sedan

The one on my Koup is the Sportwing Koup Spoiler. http://kiaforteforum.com/kia-forte-koup-...r-the-Koup
