Got new tires
Wife's 2010 Forte SX sedan needed new tires last month (34K miles). After searching tire rack and reading reviews settled on Continental ExtremeContact DWS. Goth them right before Christmas and we got our first snow, about 2", last night. She told me this morning that they worked great and the car never felt out of control. The OEM Goodyear Eagle LS tires last year were worthless in the snow. My SX sedan will need them soon, so I know what I will be getting.Smile

RE: Got new tires
I had the sidewall blow on one of my goodyear ls2's a few weeks ago. Thankfully the car started pulling hard to the left before the blowout and I was able to stop before any wheel or fender damage occured. I got two cheap Triangle directional tires mounted on the front at a local shop for around $200. I'm not happy with them as they are very noisy. They do seem to handle well in snowy/icy conditions though.

I plan to buy a new set of wheels this spring and 4 new tires all the way around.

Side note: I tried contacting Goodyear about the tire and they said that I most likely hit a curb...BS! No wheel damage, defective tire IMO. Anyway, they would not honor the warranty without me shipping the tire to them, for them to inspect it and then make their judgement call! I came out cheaper just buying a matching set of cheap tires for the front. Going Nitto or Pirelli on the next full set... F! Goodyear!

RE: Got new tires
tire companies do whatever they can to get out of warranty replacements... Hankook did everything they could to try and avoid replacing the tires when i had my Kia (they all wore out after about 3,000 miles). i ended up winning though lol

RE: Got new tires
With about 29,000 miles on my Hankook LRR (Eco package) tires, they needed to be replaced. I had picked up a nail in the left front but it had seated so nicely that I only needed to put air in about every 15 days or so. Was going to patch/plug the tire, but would have cost $40. Tire tread was very shallow, so I decided to bite the bullet and replace all FOUR.

Wanted something quieter than the Hankooks it came with, so I decided on Goodyear Assurance ComforTread ($90/tire). Pretty generic all season radials. They don't make them in 196/65 like my oem rubber, so I got 205/60 for the stock 15" steel rim. Hopefully the extra width won't hurt my mileage. The tire guys (who were very pushy) said it wouldn't, but I know they were just saying anything to sell me the tires. Hopefully these Goodyears will last longer than the Hankooks. New tires have an 80,000 mile (fine print says: 60,000-80,000 mile) warranty.

5-speed Auto
Splash Guards
35% Window Tint
