Post Your Gas Mileage
Thought this would be a good thread to start, and sticky it. It's always nice to compare what everyone is getting in the fuel economy area.

Just checked with the last fill with just under 3000 miles on the odo, and having the Mobil 1 5W20 in for 2000 miles, the last average was 28.3 mpg, all city driving.

RE: Post Your Gas Mileage
Will be hitting 30,000 miles this week! Have been running Mob 1 5w-20 since the 1st oil change. I see around 31 mpg on average. I make several trips a week that are all highway and around 100 - 300 miles each way. When making the all highway mile trips, I average 34-35 mpg.

I pour a few ounces of Lucas fuel treatment in the tank every 4th or 5th fill up and change the oil every 5,000 miles instead the factory recommended 7,500 miles.

RE: Post Your Gas Mileage
With almost 4000 miles on the odo, the latest tank of gas produced 31.3 mpg with all city driving. So we are now beating the EPA 25 mpg city rating by 6.3 mpg. In spite of what some people might say, I think the Mobil 1 is what is helping that along.

RE: Post Your Gas Mileage
Just passed 36,500 miles on my 2010 EX Eco...

5w30 changed every 3,000-4,000 miles at the dealer, got new tires and put nitrogen in the tires, mixed freeway/city driving.

Lifetime average: 32.1 mpg
Last tank: 30.2
Best tank: 38.6
Worst tank: 28.1

If I don't run the a/c and stick to the freeway under 70 mph, I can get 36-37 mpg, but California is kinda hot right now so it's back down to 30.2 mpg.

2010 Forte Eco
5-speed Auto
Splash Guards
35% Window Tint
32 mpg avg.

Do you still have the Kia phone book air filter. Change it out for a good freeflow type (K&N). Disconect battery for about 5 min. to reset ECU.. Take car out for a good hard drive ..Mileage should improve...

What kind of driver you are has an effect on mpg, as well as how much the A/C is used, tire pressure, idling time, climate, and type of gas. The kind of mpg you're getting is either a combination of what I mentioned, or a mechanical issue. I'd have the dealer run some tests to see if anything shows that could be causing it.

It is 20percent highway and 80% city driving.
I use regular gas. Tried BP, Shell and Mobil. Almost same. I never used AC, and almost all the time, my ECO green light was on. I don't think there is a mechanical issue, because it is a new car. I called KIA customer service and they said wait until I reach 7000 miles, and it will be OK. But you guys are having good MPG with same miles I have.

Cars can have issues right out of the box. You could have a bad sensor, bad EGR Valve, Bad PCV, bad intake manifold, or corrupt ECM software. It could even be dragging brakes.

If you live in a cold climate, the cold will make any of those things cause even worse results. And don't forget, running the defroster also runs the A/C to dry the air. That knocks 20% off your mpg. I recently had a recall on my Forester that was to reprogram my ECM with new software to correct an emission issue. The engine is now running better, the tranny is shifting better, and the result was a 1 mpg improvement in fuel economy.

You need to complain to your dealer long and hard.
