2011 MIrror LEDs on 2010 Forte
Thanks to the67beast on another Forte forum and his do-it-yourself post:

DYI Side Mirror Case removal for LED/Light Change

I was able to determine that the 2011 mirror covers and LED lights will fit on the 2010 mirror. I'm waiting for my 2011 mirror covers (scalp) to get painted and then I will start the install of the 2011 mirror covers and LED lights on my 2010 Koup. Will post pictures as I progress on this.

FYI
2011 Scalp (Mirror cover) PNs:
(LH) 87616 1M005
(RH) 87626 1M005

2011 LED Light Assembly PNs
(LH) 87614 1M005
(RH) 87624 1M005

If you have a cool parts department you should be able to get all 4 parts for $100-$125.

Not sure yet if the wiring of the 2010 will just plug into the 2011 LED light assembly -- but I'm sure I can splice as needed when I start.

WORK IN PROGRESS...

have the basecoat on the mirror covers...awaiting clear coat. I decided to go with gloss black to match the front grille parts - gloss black, and to be different...LoL

I cut the sockets open on the back of the LEDs and soldered wires to the small posts. Very important to note which is which - note the green (left) wire goes to the lead! I checked operation on my battery -- works perfect, nice amber light! Obviously the existing wiring will work - just need to splice into the lead wire correctly. I have sealed the opening with RTV so I'll have to wait until that cures. Did this 'cause I'm too cheap to buy the proper connectors...LoL!

Will post the next progress report as it gets done...LoL!
If you search e-bay you can find a Korean company selling the covers and LEDs for about $40-$50 -- thanks to another member...LoL!!!

I like my Kias with their 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty!

HOLD YOUR HORSES!
:(Stop the presses!

Sorry to tell you...THIS IS NOT A BOLT ON!!!!!!!!!!!

I just spent 5 hours filing and cutting and drilling and....

First - the LED Light DOES NOT fit the mirror support/frame! I ended up cutting and filing to get both the LED light and cover to fit. The three cover clips on the bottom of the cover work but the cover's upper outside clip doesn't work. I had to drill a hole in the mirror support/frame and install a screw in the cover's clip to keep it on. I also had to remove all the plates on the inside of the cover (left the clips alone) to get it to fit on the mirror support. It is together but it takes a lot of work!

The factory black w/red stripe wire was the lead wire and I connected it to my green wire I put on the LEDs. The factory Black w/white stripe wire went to my red wire. LEDs work just like factory -- IMO much better than the original 2010 light.

I dred having to do the drivers side tomorrow....

For most people you better just buy the entire mirror if you want the 2011 LED mirrors...Thanks Kia...Sad

RE: 2011 MIrror LEDs on 2010 Forte
Crap, there went my only sure fire way of telling the difference between the 2010s and 2011s lol Good job though! If it's that hard to change them out i'll never be switching to the 2012s if they're any different.
