A ubiquitous (dumb?) wheel question
Hi Kia Forte folks,
This evening I was doing a bit of online shopping for alloy wheels for my EX sedan, which has the 15" steels standard for that trim level. I found a couple of styles that I like at reasonable prices but I can't seem to find a way to decipher whether or not I can use my current tires with the new rims. Obviously, if the rim is a different diameter to my current one, I can't use my current tire. But the ones I was looking at are 15". Tl;dr: How can I tell that a new rim will be compatible with my existing configuration? (I put this in the general section because it applies to any car, not just Fortes...) ![]()

RE: A ubiquitous (dumb?) wheel question
Bolt pattern and off-set are needed. I prefer to buy from sites where you enter the car info and let them pick what fits. That way if they're wrong, it's all on their dime.

For the website I'm using (tires.com) you enter your exact car down to the trim level and wheel from the manufacturer, but I don't see a sign on any particular wheel saying this wheel will fit your car! or This wheel will not fit your car... Thanks for the information, however, greatly appreciated. EDIT: After doing a bit more "hunting" I found this page and typed what my door sticker says over it. Does that mean I can use my tires with these rims... (I honestly don't know what the 'P' and the 'R' mean from my door sticker...)

RE: A ubiquitous (dumb?) wheel question
That's your tire size. "P" means Passenger Tire. The "R" means the radius of the wheel.
