Enough room for tall drivers?
I hope to check for myself next week, but curious if there is enough room for a 6'7" 250 pound driver.

RE: Enough room for tall drivers?
ANYONE over 6' NEEDS to take a test drive -- if your torso is long then you may find the headroom too tight. If your legs are long and your torso is not you may fit.

I'm 6'2" and have about 1" clearance over my head with the seat all the way down -- I also like to sit up and not laid back.

The sedan has a lot more headroom.

I like my Kias with their 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty!

That doesn't sound too promising. The specs I saw online showed more room than some cars I could almost live with. Sometimes the numbers are misleading.

Best if you test drive one! On the Koup headroom is an issue for tall drivers.

Would be nice if Kia came out with a kit to lower the seats as much as possible (redesigned seat-to-floor-brackets).

RE: Enough room for tall drivers?
I feel that the Koup has the most leg room of any car I have ever driven. I'm 6'7" 240, the headroom although is tight! My Koup has the sun roof in it. I have the seat back adjusted so I'm leaning back just enough to be comfortable and sitting a little forward in the seat. I will deal with the headroom issue in order to own such a fun car. The driver's seat has a height adjuster, just make sure your at the lowest setting. A friend of mine sat in the car and he is 6'2" and was amazed at the leg room.

Any tall driver needs to test drive the car for themselves, because only you can tell if you will be comfortable. Remember, cars are designed based on someone the height of 5'8".

GOOD LUCK!

Obviously, I would need to test drive the car. I really didn't want to get my hopes up while waiting for a chance to go test drive one, if the car turns out to be like 99% of everything else on the market, and designed to accomodate a small woman, or rear seat passengers, at the expense of anyone over about 6'3". Did you try the sedan model?

RE: Enough room for tall drivers?
no I didn't, only test drove the Koup.

You can google Kia Forte Koup and read the many reviews on the car, which are overwelmingly positive. Smile

6'2" 205lb , the sunroof helps Big Grin , plenty leg room , this is my first automatic and my driving position is a little more laid-back versus a stick shift , the seat is lowered to the max and slightly tilted back , like a lot of other people say , you gonna have to give it a drive Wink

LoL...the sunroof helps if you lean inward as you drive and have the shade pulled back... My wife has a sedan SX and I have a Koup SX -- the sedan has plenty of headroom compared to the Koup.

RE: Enough room for tall drivers?
I'm 6'7" 260lbs and have long legs and long arms and I'm very comfortable in the Forte sedan. I test drove the Koup first and found that it was a bit tight for any kind of backseat room when I was driving, no way anyone could sit behind me. When I test drove the sedan SX, there was way more room in the back and people can sit behind me when I'm driving.

I have the SX model of the sedan with a sunroof and my head is nowhere near the roof (although I sit with the seat reclined somewhat because of my long arms). The legroom is really good too, even with my long legs, I'm still comfortable driving. I got the manual transmission and there's still enough room that I don't bang my knee when I shift.

I'm sure this car will be a good fit for you. I had a 2003 Toyota Corolla LE and it fit well, but this is easily larger and much more comfortable in the sedan.
