These are so noisy, we were getting interference on the MRI and CT scan tests at work (We use LEDs in indicator lights on the wall-mount boxes in the rooms), since then we went with LEDtronics (at $20 per bulb, and $80 per incandescent replacement) and have no noise issues.

Maybe take out one at a time to test? Might just be one bad bulb. Do the ballasts have power to them all the time? I dont know how this kit is wired yet

The ballasts only get power when your headlight switch is on.

RE: DDM HIDs
any reviews of the kit ? I ordered mine today !

5000k by the way cause I like this color its the same as real hid car without the rice look of the 6000k I have a set on my bike and I love it Smile

where have you put the oem yellow wire in the lights ? they have electricity in there too with the relay kit do you have to plug these yellow wire on the relay kit ? in my experience the relay kit use 1 side of the oem wire to light up the 2 sides

The yellow wires in the headlight attach the bulb harness' as shown in the above pics. It will make sense when you take the lights apart. The relay harness plugs in at both lights, but I too have seen harness' that only plug into one side.

So far, the kit has worked flawlessly. Bright white light, even beam spread and no flickering! For less than $100, I couldn't be happier. I agree with you on the color. A lot of people around here run 8000k - 12000k kits and the light output just seems lacking...but it is pretty. Tongue

RE: DDM HIDs
Ive done the hid install today and its finally done

I recommand the relay kit for our car since I have tested with and without the relay kit and there are some flickering issues without the relay kit

Im super happy with it.

thanks for the good pics

if your having problems during removing the headlight I found the trick, you have to pull out below the headlight(where the bumper is) and they came ou very easy, don't try to pry out by the front the headlight you will damage the corner of the headlight, I know this because mine are damaged a little because of this Tongue

ps. I do not recommand an hid kit for our fogs lights because its don't have enought space for the bulbs (its create a lot of heat) and can damage the fogs light housing.(burning it)

RE: DDM HIDs
As a fairly new member most of you don't really know me yet. I randomly found myself at a Kia dealer while looking for a replacement for my Saturn SC-1 and found a 2010 Forte Koup on the lot. It was the last one in my area (within 100kms) and thought what the hell. I drove it and then found I had no interest in driving anything else and I had to have it. I swore I wouldn't mod it but then I saw a Koup with HID's and got the bug so bad I joined the first forum I found in desperate search of info on HID's for the Koup. I must say "Thank You" to Kenny for posting this as I find myself now seeking my own set from DDM and will be installing as soon as the spring comes!

Yup I done it (burnt) ... but I unsealed them and wash them carefully, and the white burnt came off. After that, I removed the little plastic cap that hide the little hole in the housing and replaced it by a 90degre rubber. So now, the heat can go outside by this little hole. We're in winter here and since this mod, no burnt at all. Will see this summer ??? Stay tuned

No problem and welcome to the site! I've been running this setup for over a year now with no issues, except a ballast going bad. DDM shipped me a new one within a few days and all has been right since then.

I've heard DDM is having a lot of backorder issues lately. I would call them and place the order, rather than placing it online. Just me, but it seems like you might get a better ETA from someone on the phone as opposed to the internet site that just gladly takes orders and seems to be giving BS ship dates.

Hi...may I know what bulb wattage and size that you used that cause melting of your fog light housing?

And any issue you encounter during summer?

I have just finished installing my HID for fog lamp like an hour ago and now reading your post making me anxious Undecided

RE: DDM HIDs
sorry that im entering this conversation so late, but Im pretty new to the forums...I have the FULL HID conversion in my Forte Koup SX, HighBeam/LowBeam/Fog lights. I have the 8000K set up from XtremeHIDs out of north carolina, they are a whole sale custom lighting company who I have a dealer account with, but anyways, I def recommend doing the Fog light Conversion bro, it makes for a much better look because the light colors will actually match, and not to mention it adds a lot more visibility! just my opinion, your forte looks Great BTW!

P.S. I ADDED SOME PICS OF MY FORTE WITH THE FULL HID CONVERSION.
