RE: USB key problem with hid's
If your USB resets when you turn the HIDs on, then they are drawing too much initial current in the form of a spike. They need filtering so they turn on slowly so there isn't a spike. Sounds like you bought cheap Chinese HIDs.

RE: USB key problem with hid's
I test everything on my side Itsaruck ... either lighting them directly bypassing the BCM module. I also test other brand with a furnisher here in montreal and it was always resetting ... I have a set of RTX that I had on my older car and they were A1, not chinese ...The other brand is "banboo"(big ballast). The only way I resolve the problem was with the aluminium foil, and playing around with the radio wiring ... but much complicated

RE: USB key problem with hid's
Are y'all using a seperate harness for the HIDs or using the stock wiring? I'm running a DDM harness on mine with no issues at all.

RE: USB key problem with hid's
I don't know anything about HIDs and the wiring but I did spot something interesting in the 2011 Forte owners manual...HIDs may cause problems with the audio systems! I don't remember the exact page for the warning but it is around page 4-86 -- after the clock information.
I like my Kias with their 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty! |
