RE: Lightweight Pulley
Which Kia component are you thinking might be damaged. A failed part has got to be related to the after market part that fails. If the pulley comes apart or is installed wrong and it does damage I would think you are on your own with the repairs. I haven't seen any fine print about after market products and warranties, but like most dealerships they always try and relate any failed factory part to every race aftermarket part you installed.

Just adding a reduced size or light weight pulley is useless unless you have 1/2 dozen other bolt on HP parts, all together will free up some Horse Power but it will have a price. Changing a pulley will net nothing except bragging rights for pretty parts. It may change the ability for the alternator to charge the battery at idle properly, unless you increase the size of the alternator pulley it might not spin fast enough to generate over 12Volts. This is the case I have with my Firebird pulley. Some nights sitting in traffic for hours, with wipers on, headlights on, radio on, and what ever other electrical device running, you will see your battery drain quick.

RE: Lightweight Pulley
Yeah, I returned the pulley to KFX over six weeks ago, and they STILL haven't given me a refund. I've emailed and called them, and keep getting the runaround. If anyone has a suggestion as to how to get my money back, please chime in. And, as I said in a previous post, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!! Angry Angry

RE: Lightweight Pulley
Heh, a lawyer would charge more than the refund is worth ($60-70)!!! Tongue At the very least, I will report them to the Better Business Bureau.

RE: Lightweight Pulley
Update: after waiting for over three months, I FINALLY got my refund. It took a lot of persistence though--a lot more effort than anyone should have to expend to get proper customer service.

LoL!!! You've obviuosly never bought a defective part from a company and then tried to find a lawyer to help you get your money back...LoL!!!

I bought a tranny part from a company in NJ. They sent a defective item, I paid to send it back, they agreed it was defective after inspecting it, told me they were refunding my $550.00, and 6 weeks later I got a letter from them stating I had a credit for the amount they owed me towards their products. I tried finding a lawyer -- contacted every one of the "Bastages" in the yellow pages of my area. Every one of the "Bastages" said the same thing...we don't take those kinds of cases, we only do personal injury cases -- and we don't know anybody that does. "Bastages" in this country just want to make "easy" money off of injured people. I also threatened the company with a lawsuit...and found I could do so -- in New Jersey...all I had to do was go there. Even the BBB wasn't worth wasting my time calling nor were any Federal offices for that matter. I'm VERY glad to know they went out of business!
Buyer Beware -- nobody is on the consumer's side!
