Sedan rims for Koup rims at dealership?
Hello everyone. I just got my new Forte Sx Sedan dark grey with charcoal interior. So far, this is a great ride. The question is I like the rims that are the Forte Koup SX and inquired if the dealership would be willing to swap the set between my sedan and the Koup. They said it could not be done, because it would void the manufacturers warranty. Huh? Is that for real, or are they just pulling my chain and being lazy about it? Thanks. The current rims are nice though. But may have to go aftermarket if I cannot get the dealership to change them out.

I don't think it voids the warranty only because I've seen a user on Forte Forums.com and he has Koup Rims on his Sedan, and the dealership are the ones that did it. That really doesn't make sense that it would void the warranty. People switch their rims all the time. It is possible, however I don't know of very many dealers that would do it. You may want to check around.

Some dealers will do this if it will make the sale. Because the wheels are so different they may not want to because it would be harder to sell the car without the correct wheels. Best bet is to swap with a Koup owner that wants the Sedan SX wheels. Since they are factory wheels the warranty should not be an issue -- depends on your dealer though.

215/45R17. Is what both the Koup and Sedan SX models have for the tire/rim size. Thanks for the input from both of you. I did not think it would void the warranty either. Either the dealership is mistaken or just plain lazy.
Or just as KoupCoupe said, their justification it would be harder to sell the car with the different rims on there. I also wandered why Kia themselves does not offer more rim choices and cross offer them between the Koup and Sedan models. Who knows.

RE: Sedan rims for Koup rims at dealership?
My dealer had to get my sx sedan from another dealership. When he went to pick it up he discovered it had koup wheels. He asked me if I wanted to keep them or have him put the sedan wheels on. I kept them and like how they look.

I have never seen one and I can barely see your pic. It looks great from what I can see! 2010 TITANIUM SX SEDAN

it wouldn't void your warranty on the car, but the wheels wouldn't be covered. If you do a warranty claim for the part number of the koup wheel on a sedan vin# they will bounce it saying it's not applicable.
