RE: OIL FILTERS ARE LIKE OPINIONS

The construction is the same as the Mobil 1 and nothing special. The Wix design is far superior. As far as synthetic goes, I use it because it can handle stresses better, lubricates better, last longer, and improves fuel economy. The fuel savings on even a 5K change interval more than pays for the higher cost of the synthetic. So there is really no reason to use cheap dino oil in this day and age. Dino oil actually wastes money. (09-25-2010 08:31 AM)ssn1029 Wrote: I'm currently at around....1,500 miles for my koup but the dealership said to come back at around 7,500.. I will only go 1000 miles before doing the first oil change. Break in debris is the highest in the first 1000 miles. Here is a DIY from a forum I'm an admin for. It's for the Dodge Caliber, but it's the same engine: DIY Oil Change. _________________________________ Brad "Textbooks teach how to think in-the-box, the real world teaches how to think outside-the-box."

RE: Oil Change???
Could be the filters are made in Korea, like the car. I would stay with the KIA filter until you could get all the info on others that come on line for the Forte.
