Purchase Price?
How much did everyone pay for their Koup?
I know the car is fairly new, and there are no rebates yet, but I was wondering what my chances were of talking the dealer down around invoice... Do you guys think any rebates may be coming out soon? I'm in no rush to buy so I may just end up waiting until President's day and see how the price is then... |

RE: Purchase Price?
I don't think they'll be doing any rebates any time soon on the Koups, my dealer can't keep one on the lot a full week. but who knows? i paid msrp, but mine was a special order that had to be traded out from another dealership 1300 mi away. though I got free tint, wheel locks, decal work, and summer tires, plus $1000 trade in for a 94 buick skylark, so i think it worked out pretty good. i have seen some good lease and finance offers though, depending on what your looking for.

RE: Purchase Price?
Yea I was trying to figure out if I should get it now, or wait until maybe President's day when there are better rebates(since there are none now) and I have more money for a down payment.

I know everyone has to start somewhere, but sales is a talent to some extent, you either have it or you don't. ViZuNaRy 2010 Forte KOUP SX getting closer to being done... Why OpenOffice.org |

RE: Purchase Price?
Yea I emailed the dealership today and told them if they could get me an SX with the leather package for 20K and give me 12K for my trade(2006 Dodge Charger SE with 44,000 miles) then I would buy immediately. I knew it was a reach, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. They didn't bite, they emailed me back saying I was about $3200 off and that if I come in we can try to work out meet in the middle and get a deal done.
I'll probably just wait it out, see how the President's Day sale looks, and put down a bigger down payment(5K maybe). |

RE: Purchase Price?
not kidding about the end of the month thing. i've done direct sales and a huge thing to understand is not about the amount of profit they make off selling you a vehicle, but a combination of incentives offered by kia, plus any that they may get if they're part of a sales group, not to mention bonuses and the list goes on. if you've got the time, research sales trends for your area and pick the slowest month there is. go in with your deposit and trade(and most preferably your own financing, then it really is your ballgame) during that time and you can usually do well. I bought in october, which is the second slowest month for my area, behind february, and got that deal i mentioned earlier. though i would never buy a car, home, boat, atv, hottub, or robot companion on any day earlier than the 20th of any month, nearly all direct sales works this way.

RE: Purchase Price?
Well now I feel like they're just trying to rip me off. They're telling me the price for the Koup is 23380. Plus 900 for the leather. I have no idea where they're getting their numbers from.
The MSRP on the Koup is 18695 and the leather package is 1000 extra. Plus you need to get sunroof with the leather so thats 700 more. That comes to 20395. With a 600 destination charge its just under 21,000. And that's going off the Kia website, at MSRP. Now I understand I may need to pay MSRP to get the car now, but still where is the 3000 coming from....? Ugh, the whole process is just so annoying when you have people trying to make a huge profit at your expense. |

RE: Purchase Price?
that is crap, where are you? canada? now if you are getting a certain color and config that they may have to do a dealer trade then they are some additional transportation costs that have to be factored in, but i would demand details, make them itemize all expenses and costs.
