Debadging?
Has anyone debadged their Koup yet? I would like to take off all the badges(including steering wheel) except maybe the Koup badge on the rear of the vehicle. How did you do it? I've demolded cars before and just used some dental floss and stain remover on a hot day.

Also, does anyone know any good sites with replacement emblems for the grill and rear? Also for the steering wheel?[/align]

RE: Debadging?
My fiance took of the FORTE and KOUP a few days ago with a plastic putty knife and some goo gone. There were a few tiny scratches, but nothing a bit of wax won't take care of. I would like to take the KIA symbol off. Look on Ebay for emblems.

Why didn't he take off the rear Kia symbol? Is it screwed in?

RE: Debadging?
The trunk lid is molded around the badge...so if removed there will be an empty oval depression .

RE: Debadging?
Because I need to find something to replace it with first. It is recessed into the trunk and I don't want a big hole. I heard it was just glued on...

RE: Debadging?
Oh I see. Didn't realize there was a depression there. Kinda stinks...

So would you just use a glue to put the new one on? That would worry me about it possibly ruining the paint or just falling off...

Sorry never have done this before, maybe there is another way?

RE: Debadging?
i have replaced all my badges, if you want to see http://kiaforteforum.com/kia-forte-koup-...age-2.html (check the whole thread for some aftermarket stuff) but just remove to leave blank won't work well. there are indentations front and rear to worry about. if your are going to replace your grill, fine, but on the rear there are two guide rods that align the kia emblem and will leave holes in your trunk. though, for the forte and koup it is just glue, nothing a heat gun and goo gone won't take care of.

RE: Debadging?
I am thinking about replacing the badges on my Koup,( with the K badges ) I was also thinking about taking off the Forte & Koup lettering and either go with none or have them replaced with vinyl lettering or I might even have the FORTE but on the trunk in big letters right under the badge. I will try to have a photo shopped pic upped or maybe someone who probably has more talent than me can give it a go.

RE: Debadging?
Oh that sounds kool, Fyda! I have a bead blaster at work. Maybe I'll do this to my old ones Smile

Current original mods I'm working on:
1. iPod dock for console from an aftermarket iPod cable
2. Mood Lighting - one color (done)
3. Mood lighting - multi colors (done, trying to rework to make it cheap)
4. Exterior lighting front (secret) parts on order
5. Exterior lighting (secret)
6. Exterior lighting (secret)
7. Illuminated front badge (different design)
8. Push-to-change-color LED dome lamps (use plans from #3)
9. Removing silver SX rim inserts (someones already done it, looks great!)
10. Rewiring fog lamps to stay on with brights (dimmuborgir91 beat me to it)
