Ipod Connected all the time
Have you ever notice that if you keep your ipod ( 80g Video 5th Generation in my case) connected in the usb port with the Kia Ipod Cable, after a while (like a night), your battery is empty either if it was full charge ? I have this issue. Am I the only one ? or do I have a defect radio to have all that kind of issues Tongue (hid's make my usb key reboot, my leds making interference with my fm stations, and finally, my battery ipod Tongue )

Let me know Smile

By battery empty, I mean the Ipod battery, not the car's one !

RE: Ipod Connected all the time
I've discovered that once you turn your car off its cuts the power to the 12v imputs, Pretty sure that they would be wired with the usb plug, (Currently dont have an Ipod adapter because my dealership is having problems ordering them or something like that) cutting the power there as well. So maybe your ipod is still trying to link up because it is sensing that it is plugged in?

RE: Ipod Connected all the time
The problem is related to it being a 5th (2006)generation ipod. It is not your car causing this problem. I bought a used 5th gen 30g ipod off of ebay and the battery was always dying quickly. I went to apple and swapped it out ($40) for a refurbished one with a new battery. The problem continued. I also have a 80g classic (2009) ipod and have never had a problem with it.
The first clue for me was, whenever I started my car the5th gen ipod would revert back to the top of the artist list ("A" bands) as if I were turning on the ipod for the first time. Hope this helps =]

Hey Koup Tongue thans for the update ! I also have a 5th generation I bought new quite a while... So not a ebay thing. I didn't get the "revert" problem you got. Mine remembered all the time is "memory" when I stop the car. The only time it lost is memory was when the ipod battery was empty. I didn't test with my new one I bought 6 month ago ( classic 160 ). But I resolved my problem, I put relays on the data wire and since then, it keeps is full charge ! So I can let it connected all the time in the car like a "intern memory" Smile Very practicle Smile

RE: Ipod Connected all the time
I keep my IPod Touch plugged in 24/7 and it only drained once, after about 3 weeks of sitting un-cranked. Day-to-day, it stays charged.

So maybe it's the older version of ipod that drained off ... should do testing with my new ipod
