I hope to check for myself next week, but curious if there is enough room for a 6'7" 250 pound driver.

ANYONE over 6' NEEDS to take a test drive -- if your torso is long then you may find the headroom too tight. If your legs are long and your torso is not you may fit.

I'm 6'2" and have about 1" clearance over my head with the seat all the way down -- I also like to sit up and not laid back.

The sedan has a lot more headroom.

That doesn't sound too promising. The specs I saw online showed more room than some cars I could almost live with. Sometimes the numbers are misleading.

Best if you test drive one! On the Koup headroom is an issue for tall drivers.

Would be nice if Kia came out with a kit to lower the seats as much as possible (redesigned seat-to-floor-brackets).

I feel that the Koup has the most leg room of any car I have ever driven. I'm 6'7" 240, the headroom although is tight! My Koup has the sun roof in it. I have the seat back adjusted so I'm leaning back just enough to be comfortable and sitting a little forward in the seat. I will deal with the headroom issue in order to own such a fun car. The driver's seat has a height adjuster, just make sure your at the lowest setting. A friend of mine sat in the car and he is 6'2" and was amazed at the leg room.

Any tall driver needs to test drive the car for themselves, because only you can tell if you will be comfortable. Remember, cars are designed based on someone the height of 5'8".

GOOD LUCK!

Obviously, I would need to test drive the car. I really didn't want to get my hopes up while waiting for a chance to go test drive one, if the car turns out to be like 99% of everything else on the market, and designed to accomodate a small woman, or rear seat passengers, at the expense of anyone over about 6'3". Did you try the sedan model?

no I didn't, only test drove the Koup.

You can google Kia Forte Koup and read the many reviews on the car, which are overwelmingly positive. :)

6'2" 205lb , the sunroof helps :D , plenty leg room , this is my first automatic and my driving position is a little more laid-back versus a stick shift , the seat is lowered to the max and slightly tilted back , like a lot of other people say , you gonna have to give it a drive ;)

LoL...the sunroof helps if you lean inward as you drive and have the shade pulled back... My wife has a sedan SX and I have a Koup SX -- the sedan has plenty of headroom compared to the Koup.

I'm 6'7" 260lbs and have long legs and long arms and I'm very comfortable in the Forte sedan. I test drove the Koup first and found that it was a bit tight for any kind of backseat room when I was driving, no way anyone could sit behind me. When I test drove the sedan SX, there was way more room in the back and people can sit behind me when I'm driving.

I have the SX model of the sedan with a sunroof and my head is nowhere near the roof (although I sit with the seat reclined somewhat because of my long arms). The legroom is really good too, even with my long legs, I'm still comfortable driving. I got the manual transmission and there's still enough room that I don't bang my knee when I shift.

I'm sure this car will be a good fit for you. I had a 2003 Toyota Corolla LE and it fit well, but this is easily larger and much more comfortable in the sedan.

Well, I got to sit in both today, and they are too small for me. If I could add another 2" of leg room, I might have been comfortable in the sedan. I'm surprised anyone 6'7" could drive either comfortably, but peoples bodies fold differently I suppose, and comfortable is relative to what you're used to, or what you will put up with. I suspect that someone 6'2" would be comfortable in either, and 6'4" comfortable in the sedan. This of course is speculation on my part, and I only mention this to help anyone over 6' that might be considering these cars.

I was afraid you would come to this conclusion as you are pretty tall!

I think the body make up has as much to do with it as well -- long torso and short legs or long torso long legs will find the headroom too close for comfort. "Short" torso regardless of leg length even when over 6' will most likely have enough head room.

Another post on this subject...I finally sat in a leather-seat equiped Koup SX. To me there is even less head room than in a cloth-seat equiped Koup SX. The bottoms of the seats are different designs and it felt to me that the leather seats are slightly taller.

I'm 6'1 200 lbs and I fit fine and comfortably, The only thing is that when i have someone sitting behind me i have to move the seat up a little bit but is still comfortable.

Im 6'4" 220 lb's and fit the sedan rather nicely.. plenty headroom.. leg room is good....

Im noticing

A) Anyone owning a forte is over 6 ft?
B) or this forum has a bunch of tall mofo's

Lol I'm a 5'3" 96LB girl lol so I actually thought this car was humongous for a coupe. The back seat is pretty huge actually.. For me. But I hope you find a car you can fit in that's as cool as this one.

Im 5'8 and it suited me very well. I can even play basketball inside, shoot first then dribble..:D jk.

Day 3 of my new 2013 Koup SX, and I have discovered I am too tall for this car. Although only 5'10", I must have a freakishly long torso...so on the way to work today, the longest I have driven in the car (30 minutes), my head is banging on the room at every turn and bump. By the time I got to work I was so upset...I just bought a car that doesn't fit!!! So I went online to see if there are any solutions, and I have come to the understanding that I have to put the seat as far back as possible and tilt it as far back as possible (still allowing for control). Well, after an hour of fiddling around with it, I found a somewhat happy medium. It's a driving position that is further back than I am used to, but something I hopefully can get used to.

I love this car, and I was so devastated to find this problem.

I really don't want to try and modify anything structurally, as I have had bad experiences with new motorcycles/cars in the past where I ended up much worse off than where I started.

Anyway, I was glad to find this forum today and glad to see I am not alone!

Cheers!

Not trying to be a smart a$$ but you did change the seat height ??
Also i have heard of some adding a few washers to the front bolts to tilt the front of the seat up a bit..changing the angle of the seat bottom may add a little more..

Yeah i did put the seat all the way down to the lowest setting. The washer idea is interesting. I will consider trying that too. I am just glad i am not any taller!
