Anyone take their Koup on a road trip yet?

I was asking my 89 year old grandfather (who hates I bought a new car) if it was comfortable enough for him. He said yes.

I then said "Would it be comfortable enough to ride from Milwaukee to Grantsburg (southern most part of Illinois) to go see your son?"

"Yes"

Wow, 89 years old and can be comfortable in an 8-hour drive (6 in a Koup, haha). That is saying a lot for the car.

So, then I'd thought..."How far has anyone been from home yet?"

Me, I've been under 35 miles in a straight line from home so far. Now that I dont fear my car will asplode, I feel safe taking trips next spring.

Waiting to be home long enough to break it in, once that happens, it will be doing 430 miles each way a few times a year(vacation), and it may end up going further depending on locations that I have to work.

I just took a 300km joy ride as the roads here are clear for the first time in 3 months. Got some driving it before they freeze again. Was fun as hell, I got 6.8L/100km avg on my drive. Only half tank gone.. pretty awesome.

well let me see....... I have only had mine a little over a week and it just passed 300 km that's right 300 km. mostly been just work & home. don't want to wear the studs down to fast. but once the studs come off i'll never stop.

Rekoup!funny you should say without you car going to asplode... I had an 02 focus before hand... stressing honest to god everyday about a dropped valve seat... then it happened... drove my ratty old truck around for about 2 months to save some money and BAM! Forte sedan lol.. i cant wait for the weather to clear up and hit the road

My daily commute to work is over 100 mi r/t, and I love my sedan. We took our car to Vegas, about 260 mi away and I had no issues. Good seat support, cruise control works great, the eco-minder light kept me around 78 mph, though. Anything higher and it goes away.

Small problem with my gf who is 5'1" and was having trouble finding a comfortable position in the passenger seat. The headrests lean toward the front and was hitting the back of her head in a weird angle. Even when the headrests were all the way back (they are adjustable), she had to recline the seat a bunch in order to get some clearance between her head and the headrest. Not sure if that is a Forte issue or a gf issue. :)

I bought my sedan on valentines' day (about 3 1/2 months ago) and I already have over 8800 miles on the car. Maybe it's because I spend so much time in my 4-door, but I am completely comfortable on my daily drives.

hahahahahahahahahaha. :D she rolled her eyes at me when I told her the forum says its a GF issue... rotfl.

Just made a trip from San Diego to Phoenix, AZ a few days ago. 357 miles and only had to put $20 worth of gas to stay full :) comfortable ride the whole way, cruising at about 85-90mph. I will be making the trip back tomorrow. All together im expecting to only need about $50 for gas round trip... simply amazing!

I just drove from Indianapols, IN to Cincinatti, OH yesterday (about 250 miles there and back) and I got 32 MPG in my SX. And that was going 75MPH all the way there! it was awesome. I filled up before I left and came back with my gas guage still above half..lol. I've only had my car 2 weeks and I already have 1,200 Miles on it. I got it with 150 miles on it. i need to calm down :P

I'm just shy of 11,000 miles right now. It'll turn that on my drive home from work later tonight. Vegas is still the farthest I've gone, although i've been driving to L.A. a lot more, recently, and that's like 175 miles round trip from where we live in Riverside. Oh well. My gf had the same problem with the headrest again... I don't understand that at all...

2 months old, daily 100mi round trip to work. We did one weekend 300mi trip and another 500mi trip in that time. Will be undertaking a 5000-mile road trip in 2 weeks!

I drove 500+ Miles roundtrip from Indy to Sandusky to go to cedar point, and it was lovely! 36.8MPG. A full tank got me there, drove me around the city and got me 80 Miles into my trip back. I spent about 50 bucks in gas overall! It was lovely!
