Koup SX 6 speed
650Km
Average of 9.6litre/100 Km
or 24.5 miles/gallon on the trip computer

I will calculate it when I refuel!

I get about 24 to 25 mpg city and on the highway it's about 33 to 34 mpg... SX

got an SX a/t and i'm getting about 18 so far. though i've only had the car 2 days and am still putting it through the paces, i suspect this number will go up considerably. also, i don't see the eco light very often ;)

You need to SEE the light more often...LOL!

According to my in-dask mileage indicator it is fluctuating between 27 and 28 MPG with mostly suburban driving -- 90% @45 MPH

kind of heavy there Mister :D
yeah! definitely need to see the light more often ;)
how 'bout some photos of the beast ;)
Congrats by the way

my foot is definitely heavy, but gas mileage isn't really important to me. I only drive on weekends for pleasure, during the week I'm always out of town for work, so I still only go through about 1.5 tanks a month, maybe 6000 miles per year, I'll definitely not need to worry about going over the 100,000 miles before the 10yr runs out :)

It's in a bodyshop right now, but when I get it back I'm going to post some pics... I'm going to do some before and after shots.

ok, it's now at 25 mpg, doing better, though like i said i'll never get as high as some of you.

My in-dash computer has been recording > < 28 MPG. I had a chance to check it Vs pumped gas...241 miles with 8.85 gallons. Comes out to 27+ MPG with mostly in-town driving. Pretty good for me!

hell, mine when back down to 19mpg now. I'm not THAT aggressive a driver, if it doesn't go up in a couple tanks, I'll have the dealer look at it. I need to take it up there anyways, my rear seat on the driver side will fold forward if you just pull on it, without pulling the release in the trunk. no one will ever sit there, but it's still a safety issue.

i had an issue with the rear seat not wanting to stay secured in the upright position also...but when i got pissed off at it and slammed it as hard as i could...it stopped moving on me

Congrats! You've invented the first KIA Fonzie Koup!

lol

:D

Ways to improve gas mileage:

1. Go easy on the accelerator. Slow acceleration, slow deceleration.
2. Lose that belly.
3. Fill up your tire air pressure.
4. Coast when your going down hill, do the same when your approaching a stop sign/stop light.
5. Staying behind a large truck on the highway to push air out of your way (Caution: be carefuly doing this).
6. Switch to synthetic engine oil. (Generates less heat, slightly more slippery, has better protection for engine parts over the long run. It also removes gunk that will eventually build up inside the engine)
7. Switch to sythetic transmission oil as well
8. Put gas in the morning or the evening. ( During the day time, fuel expands due to heat from the sun. Your getting LESS gas for the same amount of money).
9. Make one long time vs frequent smaller trips. Combine errands into one rather than spacing them out through out the week.
10. Clean your car. Lose unneccesary things inside the car that adds weight. More weight on the car = more engine power = less gas mileage.
11. Invest in a GPS with traffic alert. It will save your the hassle of being stuck in traffic, help you get to work on time, and save you gas.( Some feature "eco route" feature that suggests the most fuel efficient route to take.)

Hope that helps. :D

Who has a link to that video (or was it a series of pictures) where they kept taking parts off that Honda until it did 13(?) seconds in the 1/4 mile? Was just the drivetrain and frame left, not even a seat

Staying behind a truck may save money by slightly increasing gas mileage but your chances of buying a new windshield or fixing paint chips increases dramatically...LoL!

#5 is tricky: Depending on where the air is hitting your car, you can DECREASE mileage by "drafting" a truck.

#8 most tanks are 20' down now, so the ground temperature doesnt affect the gas temperature much, and took several hours to change + or - . We proved this in 1988 when I was in college. Got gas samples in graduated cylinders and took temp readings. Also took 5 gallons at 40 degrees and heated to 114 degrees, was negligible expansion. You'll get more gas holding the hose up after you shut it off, but then you're driving with the weight of a full gas tank around to start.

Oh we also proved liquid gasoline doesnt burn even with a 200KV spark in a 1/8" gap. "Flooding". Was so much fun.

#6 I may go with AMS OIL and see what happens. Everyone I know swears by it.

that's what i'm switching to, are you going to a heavier weight?

mileage sticking at 26 now, only city driving so that's not bad. anyone tried swapping out their air filter yet?

also, that truck thing, DON'T DO THAT, we don't like it :p ..... just imagine what your new forte would look like stuffed up under that trailer if we hit our brakes.
