How much did everyone pay for their Koup?

I know the car is fairly new, and there are no rebates yet, but I was wondering what my chances were of talking the dealer down around invoice...

Do you guys think any rebates may be coming out soon?

I'm in no rush to buy so I may just end up waiting until President's day and see how the price is then...

I am sure you can make a deal. I did. Everybody wants to sell a car.....

I don't think they'll be doing any rebates any time soon on the Koups, my dealer can't keep one on the lot a full week. but who knows? i paid msrp, but mine was a special order that had to be traded out from another dealership 1300 mi away. though I got free tint, wheel locks, decal work, and summer tires, plus $1000 trade in for a 94 buick skylark, so i think it worked out pretty good. i have seen some good lease and finance offers though, depending on what your looking for.

edit: where are you located?

Yea I was trying to figure out if I should get it now, or wait until maybe President's day when there are better rebates(since there are none now) and I have more money for a down payment.

something to consider is how many your dealer has in stock and how long they keep them. if they are selling like hot cakes, i couldn't imagine them offering discounts. it's just not feasible. though if hey are moving slowly in your area it may be a good idea to wait them out. however, i strongly recommend purchasing towards the end of the month, you WILL get a better deal! it's all about volume, dealer incentives, and quotas. also, consider skipping the salesperson and going straight to the sales manager. the sales girl(not woman) i had was uninformed, ignorant, and poorly skilled(she actually begged and whined) and I went to the sales manager and told him not to let her speak to me again. I know everyone has to start somewhere, but sales is a talent to some extent, you either have it or you don't.

Yea I emailed the dealership today and told them if they could get me an SX with the leather package for 20K and give me 12K for my trade(2006 Dodge Charger SE with 44,000 miles) then I would buy immediately. I knew it was a reach, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway. They didn't bite, they emailed me back saying I was about $3200 off and that if I come in we can try to work out meet in the middle and get a deal done.

I'll probably just wait it out, see how the President's Day sale looks, and put down a bigger down payment(5K maybe).

not kidding about the end of the month thing. i've done direct sales and a huge thing to understand is not about the amount of profit they make off selling you a vehicle, but a combination of incentives offered by kia, plus any that they may get if they're part of a sales group, not to mention bonuses and the list goes on. if you've got the time, research sales trends for your area and pick the slowest month there is. go in with your deposit and trade(and most preferably your own financing, then it really is your ballgame) during that time and you can usually do well. I bought in october, which is the second slowest month for my area, behind february, and got that deal i mentioned earlier. though i would never buy a car, home, boat, atv, hottub, or robot companion on any day earlier than the 20th of any month, nearly all direct sales works this way.

Well now I feel like they're just trying to rip me off. They're telling me the price for the Koup is 23380. Plus 900 for the leather. I have no idea where they're getting their numbers from.

The MSRP on the Koup is 18695 and the leather package is 1000 extra. Plus you need to get sunroof with the leather so thats 700 more. That comes to 20395. With a 600 destination charge its just under 21,000. And that's going off the Kia website, at MSRP. Now I understand I may need to pay MSRP to get the car now, but still where is the 3000 coming from....?

Ugh, the whole process is just so annoying when you have people trying to make a huge profit at your expense.

that is crap, where are you? canada? now if you are getting a certain color and config that they may have to do a dealer trade then they are some additional transportation costs that have to be factored in, but i would demand details, make them itemize all expenses and costs.

I got a deal by getting the EX..last one left....3 Sx's were comming in 3 weeks maybe....2 WERE SPOKEN FOR.....2k down...they ate my last 2 cadillac payment..THEY GAVE ME A CHECK BACK TO MAKE THE LAST PAYMENTS..TOTAL OF $800..36 MONTH LEASE..FOR $270 A MONTH.
I'm happy:)

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SETTLE PAYING MSRP! I got the Koup SX with sunroof WAY under MSRP!

No I'm in Boston. But yea, I sent him an email back questioning where he got his numbers from and bringing up all the info I know as far as MSRP and invoice prices. A little while later he sent me an email saying he was sorry he "shouldn't send emails before he has coffee", which is just a nice way of saying "damn, thought I could rip you off!". He said it was a typo, he didn't mean to type 23,380 but 20,380. I'm sure he does that every time and most people don't even notice and just go with it. Terrible...

Also, back to the topic, anyone wanna say how much exactly they paid? Is that too private or something? I've just noticed noone is saying how much they actually paid, just giving general statements.

I traded in a 2001 Rav-4 L. My payoff was $4700 and they gave me $4000. I could care less about they give me for a trade as long as the bottom line...and what I finance is a good deal. I walked out the door financing $20000....including tax, tag, and title, and the rolling the "negative" equity into my new car. If you take out the tax, tag, title, and $700 negative equity looks like I paid $18000 for the car. I got a black SX with sunroof. Sticker was $21300 and they had added a $995 paint package and $995 dealer adjustment. Online the car had been listed for $19800 so I started there and went down. I wouldn't even entertain the idea of the $21300.

Bottom line........DON'T pay MSRP!

Seems like your sticker was alittle high to begin with thats why they bargained with you.

My sticket was 19,200 with Compass Mirror, sunroof and everything and I got the car for exact sticker. They wouldnt budge on the price and there was someone else sitting right behind me ready to snatch it up if I didnt buy it.

I dont see why the dealer wouldnt sell it for msrp because you cant get the car anywhere. I went back to the dealer today with my gf to have her look at the sedans and there 4 koups they just got in and the next day I went back all 4 were gone.

I want to finance an SX with leather for 20K. Don't care how they work it. I'm gonna let them know, see what they can do...

@blkoup, you also have to consider that you bought off the lot. mine was a specific color/config and i was not open to any variation, which is another reason it took 2 months to get. koup d'etat are you buying one they have already or trying to get something specific?

vizunary...very true. I got lucky. They had one black koup SX with sunroof...6 speed on the lot. That is exactly what I wanted so it worked in my favor.

dambrosioj.....not sure how much the mirror was but seems the MSRP was right on. I think $18000 was a great deal!

i got mine for 20400 total INCLUDING almost 1000 in taxes and 160 license & title for my leather package. I thought I was getting ripped. I dont really care, this is my first NEW car EVER and I hate everything else under 30k purchase price and im not paying 50k for a Taurus SHO (even with 13.0 in the 1/4 mile) . Loaded, leather, homelink, everything. Leather seems to be a rare option...maybe not that many cows in Korea lol...was only 5 in the midwest (within 300 miles) that had manual trans and leather
