I was thinking about purchasing a Koup, but I don't know if Kia is reliable or not. Alot of people said Kia changed over time, is it true? Are the Koups flawless?? Thank you
Tough question...I've been driving for 37 years and started out buying only American-made cars. I looked at a Kia in 2000 for the first time, liked the low price and the LLOONNGG warranty -- I like having a warranty that will outlast the car's "mortgage" these days. I and my family have purchased 10 Kias since. None of them have left us stranded anywhere yet (knock on wood...LoL)...and I've driven them round trip from FL to CA and FL to IL and the worst experience was a door ding in CA! 5 of them haven't needed anything but oil changes* and the rest have mostly gone back for minor things: mostly recalls, 1 center armrest broke, 1 brake wheel sensor bad, 1 Air Conditioner valve not opening fully, and an AC vent fell off. We have had one tranny replaced for a loud bearing noise (06 Spectra). I think Kia understands that they need to keep the quality up or they will not do well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Kia; however, you can read many posts on this site and other Kia sites and must realize they aren't perfect cars -- I don't think any makes are. As with any make you can get a "cream-puff" or you can end up with "gremlins". My wife and I have a sedan SX and a Koup SX and both have just been driven with no problems -- We're hoping they stay that way.
Good luck in your decision.
