Manufacturers cannot void your warranty for that. There is a law protecting consumers for that very reason. Called the Magnuson act I think it's called.
What you just wrote is completely and utterly false. Racing is listed as one of the reasons for a warranty to be refused. To be more specific...you are not using the car for it's intended purpose -- legally driving on roads while obeying the law. Racing puts higher strain on components and can void a warranty. Will be up to the dealer and corporate to fix if you break it while racing.
The act you referenced protects you if you use non-factory replacement parts like filters, oil, tires, muffler, sparkplugs, brakes, etc -- I.E. normal replacement/wear parts with OE-like designed aftermarket parts. It does not allow you to modify your car and expect the manufacturer to warrant it. You can modify your car...just don't expect a dealer to fix it under warranty if the part you installed COULD have caused the problem.
