wow just got the car today and damn iTS HARD to shift from 1-2-3 for the first 800meters (-18 outside today) !! and I know what you talking about the weird clutch shifting point ! Ive stalled like 4 times in a traffic jam and I was like WTF :blush: :dodgy:


by the way its true the final drive was created for ECO but vs my mazda 3 I didnt see too much difference I can live with it, and when I push the car to the metal its just insane its powerful and silence:P :D
 
Yeah I left work last night, was about 2 below 0. I couldnt get the car into 1st or 2nd

Just came back from lunch, 5 degrees out, and I had to force it into gear.

As far as the stalling & revving, the 1-pound crankshaft pulley from RoadRaceMotorsports (I think its $139>?) fixes the rev issue AND adds noticeable power, according to the seller and one guy here. I have it but its too cold to install.
 
Issue I have in cold weather (-20 to -40) is the clutch "leaks" if at a stop with the clutch pushed to the floor for a minute or so (red light) it will slowly try and engage. First time I was barely able to force it out of first gear at a light or it would have stalled or lurched forward. I had to release the clutch and after a few seconds I was able to use the clutch to put into gear again. After driving for a little it warmed up enough to behave regularly. The Forte's must have hydraulic clutches? My old 07 Pontiac Wave must have had a manual clutch since it never had issues in cold weather.

yea, Forte has a hydraulic clutch. thats why its so easy to depress ;)
 
well b the way its suck it happend on my olf jeep tj 92 but on my new car Im disapointed about that :(

PS.
your stock crank pulley acts as the engines harmonic balancer and suppresses internal harmonic vibrations caused by engine operation. The flywheel also acts as a balancer in many cases. Replacing both of these with lighter parts takes away all of the balancing components in the engine aside from the crankshaft counterweights. I wouldn't advise it.

if you want better revmatch you should buy a lightess flywheel in this case its ok and do the same without any problems but sure its cost more :blush:

Had the same issue on my ride when new! Now at 3 mounth old, shiffting is quite easy even at -20C and I did get use to the cluch..
