How can I tell mine is the Fuel Economy Package?

Hello, Kia Forte world! I just purchased my Kia Forte EX, and I "purchased the Fuel Economy Package." My experience when purchasing this Kia was mediocre, but then again, this dealership is very busy. I simply was wondering, how can I tell that they gave me the correct Fuel Economy Package Forte EX? It says on the site "5 speet A/T, Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS), Smart Alternator, Low-Rolling-Resistance Silica Tires, and something that I'm most interested in, the "Aerodynamic Enhancements."

I am 23, and clueless about cars (but know Kia is awesome!). The dealership unfortunately said they had no Fuel Economy Package EXs when I was there, and it even took them "a few days" to get it (they kept saying tomorrow, but it kept getting delayed). What are some obvious ways I can tell that I have the Fuel Economy Package? Thank you to anyone who responds, your help will be greatly, greatly appreciated!

window sticker will always be correct. trust it. :)

That's the thing though, there was no window sticker on it. It was simply in their lot ready to go. I'd actually truly like to see some of the differences in the aerodynamic enhancements more than anything.

You need to go back to the Dealership and make sure that you got what you paid for. You don't just sign stuff without reading it first..lol. Alot of us do it, but it's a bad habit to have. I wouldn't care how busy they were. I would go right back in there and ask and make sure. I know one thing for sure, if you drive at an ECO friendly pace, the Eco light will illuminate. However, I am not too sure on the specifics. I don't even have the care yet...lol. I would definitely go back in and get this sorted out though.

oh... yea go back and get the window sticker... and make sure you check the VIN on it too. they should've left the window sticker in it, too...

If you have an EX model and it has a 2.0 L with 5-speed auto tranny you have the fuel economy model...5 speed auto doesn't come with regular EX 2.0L engine

I got the window sticker, it was in my glove box. I looked at the VIN number on the window sticker, and the VIN on the door, and they matched --- and it is certainly the Fuel Economy Package.

However, if you go to kia.com, and look at the Fuel Economy Package, it says "aerodynamic features"... what are these features? I cannot see the difference between the normal EX and my Fuel Economy one. It also says that this Fuel Economy package comes with silica tires, and I suppose they look a little different?

Thanks for the responses!

"aerodynamic features"...I remember reading about this before -- supposed to be something under the car before or after the wheels. Never saw anything more on it though. If you spot something on your car that is not on other Fortes let us know...LoL!

Yeah, I know... no physical differences at all! I wonder if anyone out there is able to post pictures comparing/contrasting the Fuel Economy EX to the 'normal' one....? Thanks.

I know this thread is a little old, but I just joined, so I'll throw in my 2 cents. :)

I also went through great pains to get the eco package on my EX, the biggest reason being the 5-speed auto. The dealers tried offering me the manual transmissions, and one even was willing to sell me an SX with a 6-speed for an EX price (tempting), but in the end, I got the car I wanted.

I did notice that there are small tabs on the underside of the car in front of the rear tires. I am not sure if those are on all the EX sedans, but I figured that was one of the aero-fixes.

The silica tires have less rolling resistance than normal rubber (if you believe the propoganda) and having played with a number of different tire manufacturer's displays, I'd be inclined to say if you swapped out regular all-season rubber you would notice a drop in mpg.

Aero-mods aside, I bought splash guards for the front tires which looks like it adds a lot of drag to the car, but my mpg has stayed the same, so I am not sure how effective small changes to the aerodynamics would be. Maybe at race speeds you'd notice a bigger difference, but on the freeways, I can't imagine they are that effective.
