Question

I am not sure if a thread has been started regarding this topic, but I would like to start a thread called Who have YOU raced? looking for submissions of experience in racing your new forte against other vehicles; lights to lights, 1/4m track, or friendly 0-100 on the back roads. The reason for my asking is in a lot of places street racing is illegal. I did not want to get this forum in jeopordy, or be banned for starting such a thread. Please let me know.

I think you can talk about friendly stuff, you know just messing around on the highway or something like that but it's probably not a good idea to talk about actual street racing with money or cars on the line. Not too mention how stupid that is in the first place.

Well.. You have to be really careful about things like this because the insurance companies browse forums and people have lost insurance because of racing - and warranties have been voided as well. If you want, I could setup a "race story" area where I can put up a disclaimer stating that we do not promote street racing... That'll keep the SITE out of trouble......

We had a similar thread on the Mark VIII forums, with most being victory stories (The Mk VIII is a 300-HP aluminum Cobra engine, and cheap to modify...one member has his under 12 seconds in the 1/4 mile, another 13.44 that is N/A!).

I think I'd need to really get a feel of this 6-speed, I'm NOT used to high-RPM 4-cylinder engines and always shift too soon.

I'm tempted to say nobody I've heard of has been dropped for talking about racing on a forum, but I can name 20 news stories where the media gets some racy pic of someone recently arrested from their facebook, or the Canadian woman that was dropped from her depression treatment because of ONE smiling picture found on her facebook page.

Maybe stories about how you convinced someone KIA is a sporty car and a major contender in the sport import market (and they arent crap like they were 10 years ago). That's just as fun for me, reading that

Hmm... What do you think Sal. I think that's a little small for a more elaborate sig. You think it's alright if I go bigger? Right now the size is 320x180... Do you want to set a max size? 500x220? I'm not too good with these sizes and stuff, I can put up a couple of different sizes so you can have an idea tho...?
