I picked up my black koup sx last saturday. I drove my 99' cougar that was dying a slow death, left the cougar and drove away in my spanking new koup.

I must admit that I spent a fair bit of time checking out the other makes that were in the same category. For the price, the koup is the best bang for the buck.

To my surprise, this little beast is not only easy on the pocket, but fun to drive and she looks awesome. (loving the 17' rims)

Here are a few things that I think I will be looking into:

- exhaust, or something to make my koup sound a little meaner
- darker tint (mainly in the rear)
- installing my amp/ speaker box (from the cougar) but I have to figure out the wiring first. (so if anyone out there with some knowledge, feel free to pm me or post)

Other than those few things, I suppose I will sit and wait and see what the aftermarket gurus come out with.......

Thanks to reading and I will most definately be coming by here often.

Thanks also for setting up this forum.

Peace,

Just bought a black SX Koup last Monday. I had a guy hook up my subwoofer to the back speakers to avoid messing with the warranty on the radio. I also upgraded the tweeters. It sounds AMAZING! Hooking up the sub to the back speakers also gives me the control of using the fader to adjust the amount of bass in the car. I also tinted the windows with 5% tint all the way around. LOOKS SICK! Hope you are enjoying your car like I am.

I picked up a black 6spd SX koup last week at 401/Dixie Kia. I'm looking at the tint and clear headlights (if they exist yet) but nothing performance-wise yet. Welcome to the club!

Congrat BlkKoup, enjoy your new ride.

I also have a 99 Cougar v6 two years ago. I've gutted the pre-cat and put a magnaflow cat back. People told me that it sound like a v8. I realy enjoy that ride and especialy the sound.
Unfortunately I don't think Koup will ever sound close to my old Cougar deep note.........I hope I'm wrong!

Hey....

Blkoup - sorry about the similar name. Thanks for reminding me about the waranty on the radio. I better think this one through. I would like to installed my amp though (just because I can push more watts out) Looks like more research to be done. Yeah, I would agree that the tint would totally add to an already wicked looking car.

sky_lmnt - let me know if you get a good deal on the tint. maybe we can tint both our cars at the same time (maybe at a better deal??)
mine is also a 6spd and black.

matemorh - I had a V6 cougar as well. I loved my cat, but it seemed that I was speeding way to much $$$ to keep her going. Many good times...big difference coming from a 6 down to 4 cyl. The clutch is awfully light on the koup. Some getting used to....and yes, the sound on the koup needs to be enhanced.

BUT.......such a fun car!

I suppose I should get some pics to post up soon.

cheers,

BlkKoup.

Nice choice in cars...thumbs up...

When you get a chance post some pics.

I noticed your name last night. I guess great minds think a like:) I am waiting to go pick up my car from the dealer as we speak. They are going to buff the car...had a couple minor scratches on it. I hated leaving it there....I am obsessed with the car.

Just picked up my Titanium 6-Speed SX from Oakville Kia on the weekend...no upgrades yet..I am loving this thing just the way it is! ..for now

blkKoup - i'm getting the tint done at audio heaven in richmond hill. $170 plus a life time gaurantee. i've had friends do it there before and they've had their tints for years without a problem.

Yo.......

blkoup - great minds do think alike :) I am too, quite consumed about my koup. Actually enjoying the civic (si) drivers scoping out my ride.

blooma - congrats on your ride. I'm not gonna do any performance upgrades(yet).... But I am gonna get tint and I am still working on trying to figure out how to do the wiring for my amp and speaker box.

sky_lmnt - thanks for the info. $170 is a good price. I will give them a call. The koup is gonna ROCK!

cheers,

BlkKoup

@blkkoup, for the wiring on the amp, I haven't personally done ir yet, but apparently there is no audio out from the head unit, so you have to get a line input(speaker wire) to rca adapter. I am still frustrated about this and that's why i have yet to wire mine. i don't like the idea of losing half my audio for the sub. too bad they didn't make the usb connector an in/out device, that would have simplified things, and would've been a nice function to have.
